APICS Supply Chain Council

Integrated Supply Chain is working in association with APICS Supply Chain Council (APICS SCC), which is a global nonprofit organization whose methodology, diagnostic, and benchmarking tools help nearly a thousand organizations make dramatic and rapid improvements in supply chain processes. APICS SCC has established the supply chain world’s most widely accepted framework for evaluating and comparing supply chain activities and their performance. The framework—the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR®) model—lets organizations quickly determine and compare the performance of supply chain and related operations within their company or against other organizations. APICS SCC continually advances its tools and educates members about how organizations are capitalizing on those tools. By using its tools, APICS SCC members are able to rapidly overcome the first difficult step in supply chain improvement: determining what processes to improve first and how much to improve them.

Members also use APICS SCC’s reference models to guide the consolidation of internal supply chains (which results in significant cost reductions from eliminating duplicative assets); create standard processes and common information systems across business units (which generates major cost savings, cycle-time and quality improvements); and create a common scorecard by which customers can measure their performance and by which APICS SCC members can measure suppliers’ performance (which can lead to major cross-organizational process improvements).

To help members maximize the value of APICS SCC’s reference models, the organization provides a benchmarking database by which organizations can compare their supply chain performance to others in their industries; training so that managers can master the use of the reference models; and conferences at which supply chain and senior business executives can learn how APICS SCC members have used the organization’s services to make dramatic improvements in supply chain and overall financial performance.

ELUPEG (European Logistics Users Providers and Enablers Group) is a not-for-profit European cross industry organisation created in 2003 to tackle issues on a collaborative basis. We seek to promote, facilitate and engender horizontal collaboration.

Our mission is to provide the forum where senior people interested in collaboration can meet in a ‘trusted’ and neutral environment to instigate and develop mutually beneficial sustainable supply chain projects. We aim for all supply chain stakeholders to generate greater collective, commercial, economic and social benefit than ever previously imagined, by identifying and acting upon opportunities to work together more easily and more effectively.

ELUPEG has 3 group meetings per year located in different parts of Europe, with smaller more specific meetings in between. Previous hosts include Ford, Metro, General Mills, LKW Walter, Coca Cola Enterprises, Kimberly Clark and many others. An important part of the meeting is the lively interactive break-out sessions in the Collaborative Working Groups.

We have around 600 members including Corporate Members of Solvay, DHL, Eddie Stobart, Freightex, CEVA Logistics, Wincanton and many more.

Education, behavioral change, team work, collaboration and partnership - all values which are entrenched in The Fresh Connection.

Ranging from a focus on team building and partnerships, through to corporate strategy and structured communication processes such as S&OP, the varying depths of learning experience include:

Open competition: Ideal for team building and increasing cross-functional awareness of the end-to-end Supply Chain.

In-company workshops: Can be structured between half a day and even multiple months and includes learning interventions to support the use of the simulation.Typically engaging a crossfunctional group of Middle or Senior Managers, some of the key learning’s include strategy into action, structured communication, the need for collaboration, demand management, product rationalisation, and tradeoffs.
